Product Overview
In the 'old days' of the 80's and 90's, many food storage companies used to use nitrogen flushing or vacuum sealing (and some still do) to remove oxygen from their Mylar aluminum foil bags. Oxygen absorbers have been growing in popularity since then, because they are a much better mechanism and provide better results than either. While the average vacuum sealer removes down to about 2% oxygen, an oxygen absorber will remove down to about .1%...about 20 times better results! And nitrogen flushing provides worse results, removing down to about 5% oxygen.
So for long term food storage, oxygen absorbers are the clear winner.
This case of 300cc oxygen absorbers is perfect the use in conjuction with 1-gallon Mylar bags. The general rule of thumb is to use 300cc of oxygen absorber per 1-gallon of bag. This case contains 30 packs of 50 absorbers each, for a total case absorption of 450,000cc.
